Having been instructed following the refusal of a retrospective application to the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham relating to the conversion of a property into two flats, Cunnane Town Planning LLP succeeded in overturning that decision on appeal (by way of the written representation procedure) to the Planning Inspectorate, with the appointed Inspector concurring with the main argument put forward by the Practice, namely that the unique layout of the property (possessing a large, historic roof extension) which provides considerable additional floorspace justified a departure from adopted policy, which would normally seek to prevent the loss of small, terraced dwellinghouses.
