Local Development Frameworks
The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, which came into force in September 2004, has resulted in major changes to the way the planning system works. Structure and Local plans are starting to be replaced with Local Development Frameworks. The Local Development Frameworks will be a portfolio of individual documents comprises of:

  • Local Development Schemes (LDS)
  • Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)
  • Development Plan Documents (DPDs)
  • Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)
  • Annual Monitoring Report (AMR)

Influencing emerging land use policies and proposals is of prime importance because of the pre-eminence of Development Plans in determining planning applications and appeals. We can assist in evaluating emerging Local Development Plan documents, and pursing objectives/submissions on behalf of the client regarding a specific site/issue.
