Joe Cunnane - BA (Hons), (DipTP), MRTPI, (MIPI)

PROFILE - Joe Cunnane has 30 years experience in town and country planning in the UK and Ireland . He spent 10 years in local government and during this time he produced the Wimbledon Town Action Plan and the Hackney Borough Local Plan. He also worked extensively in development control in London Boroughs.
Since setting up in private practice in 1985 he has established Cunnane Town Planning as one of the leading town planning consultancies in the UK and Ireland. He is also a founding Director of CSR Ltd, CTP’s sister practice in the Republic of Ireland.
Joe provides high level commercial planning advice to the full spectrum of private and public sector clients that the Practice serves.

John Blackwell - BA(Hons), DipTP, MRTPI
Partner
PROFILE - John has over 30 years experience in Town and Country Planning throughout the UK, including 14 years in local government and 3 years as a Planner/Buyer for a major housebuilder.
Having joined Cunnane Town Planning in 1992, John was invited to become a partner in 1996. He now oversees work for a large number of private and public sector clients, including appeals for several local authorities, and personally manages major planning applications and several appeals.
John has advised a major landowner in North Yorkshire on the development of several residential sites and was instrumental in securing planning permission from the local authority for a large-scale scheme in Harrogate Borough.
He also worked closely with Sport Scotland and Edinburgh University in the application of their Facilities Planning Model to land use planning and policy formulation for leisure strategies.

Ian Phillips - BA (Hons), MRTPI
Partner
PROFILE - During a planning career spanning 26 years, Ian has been employed by local authorities at Basildon, Leeds, Brent and South Buckinghamshire, principally as a Development Control Officer.
For the past 15 years he has worked at Cunnane Town Planning, initially as a Senior Planner, before becoming Managing Partner in 1993.
Ian has considerable experience of appeal work handling nearly 300 cases by written representations, hearings and public inquiries. He has also been engaged in numerous planning submissions and appeals representing plc clients such as Whitbread, Burger King, Laing Homes, Granada and many other developers.
