Representing over 30,000 local residents through a local environmental pressure group, Cunnane Town Planning led a consultancy team including Legal, Highways and Planning experts in objecting to a proposal for the redevelopment of the last Royal Ordinance Filling Factory of the Second World War. The proposal, contained within an emerging UDP comprised 1,500 houses, school, convenience shopping and employment uses. An array of expert evidence relating to access, sustainability, affordable housing and district-wide land supply was presented to the Public Inquiry, and cross examination of the City Council’s witnesses carried out by lead Counsel.
The Planning Inspectorate has recently recommended that the allocation be removed from the emerging UDP.
